Right, ok so I may be more than a little biased, as I am acutally IN the vid, but I think its a stunning achievement by JR (believe me he put in a LOT of time and effort on this, as the vast majority of the work was done by him, so all the rest of us had to do was turn up and record the dialogue while trying not to laugh at Solomon saying Grrrrrrrrderrrrrr). If the reaction to the vid remains as positive as it has been so far, I am sure it will go a long way to convince JR that all of the time and effort given to this project was worth it, and will hopefully lead to us commiting to the next episode.

Originally by: John Rourke You should hear some of the outtakes from the voice recording. I almost had enough wood to build a shed.
Please god let that be from my poor acting skills and no other reason

A real big thankyou to everyone who's taken the time to post, I know JR's totally made up about it.
Oh and I thought the voice acting was spot on :) you'd never know that none of us went to drama school ;)
Burke by name, Berk by nature
Seriously tho, I have to agree with (most of) what my friend says here, and just want to say that 10% of the people who downloaded it got even half the enjoyment from watching it that we got from making it, then I think it was worth it.

Oh god no.... if JR did the blooper reel, then it would be about 5 times longer than the actual film.
(Note to self, for the next film, Ban Solomon from bringing cookies)

Ian worked for about 1500 man hours on this project, so that works out to about 6 months work IF it had been his full time job working 9-5

Originally by: Rylai I feel like i'm going to be the only hater here. The video was fantastic, the idea was fantastic.
The voice acting was ****ing horrible. For the first 15-20 minutes it's forgivable, but after that point I feel like you guys should realize you're not just saying lines, you're acting. Half the time it sounds like you're just speaking the words. "O god we are under attack again" "well **** off with it and get to work." There really is NO emotion whatsoever. For this reason I was realllllly put off by the video, it could've been SO much more. Again, this is why directors exist and actually make money - their job isn't exactly easy or 100% intuitive. If there is a part 2 I sincerely hope that you take these criticisms into account. Try to have some emotion, some depth of feeling. When you do a simple <10 minute video there is minimal, if any, connection to the characters because there really isn't a long enough window of time to get to know the characters. At 40 minutes when it is almost impossible to relate to any of the characters because they have seemingly no depth it becomes a task to really enjoy (in my opinion) the film (which is really what this is).
tl;dr voice acting means your voice has to do the acting. If you don't speak with any emotion, the whole thing runs flat and it sucks.
But it was a ****ing awesome video But it could've been absolutely ****ing ****-your-dead-grandmother-and-jesus-still-loves you awesome.
First off, you aren't the only "hater" that has posted on here about it, and like the rest you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, but you seem to have missed one rather large fact, and that is that this movie was filmed as a bit of fun by a small group of friends who have no acting/directing experience between them. Most of the guys involved work for a large insurance company in the UK, and I work in a lab...... not much need to "act" in any of those jobs. All of the filming and recording was done in what little spare time we could arrange to have off together, and it was the first time any of us had done this.
Yes the acting could have been better, we have ALL said that (numerous times), but hey ho some people just seem to miss the point no matter how often you repeat yourselves.

Guys, just remember that people are allowed to have their own opinion about things, just cos Trenton didn't like Clear Skies doesn't mean he is wrong. Everything like this is subjective.
That being said tho, i do think Trenton missed the point, and as Twiglet said it was stated that Clear Skies bends the Eve-verse little in some places. The intent was to tell a story, one that just happened to be loosely based on the characters that we created in the Beta stages of Eve. It would seem that most people on here have enjoyed the story so far for which we will always be incredibly grateful, and humbled by the response of the majority of posters, I am sorry that you are not one who enjoyed it. All I can suggest is that you don't bother watching part 2, as it will probably prove to be equally frustrating for you.
Personally I have always disliked the "pod pilot" thing, mainly because I think the only person that looks convincing in an Egg shaped ship is Mork

Ps: i wonder if ther will be a blooper vids
I am sure that Ian will be doing the Blooper reel soon(ish), believe me he has PLENTY of material to choose from :) However to do it Ian will have to animate, lip-synch and Mo-cap the scenes, which takes a bit of time :)
So basically, it will be here, just watch this space :)
